FAQ
General
What is TheCueReport?
TheCueReport is a Canada-first cue sports data site covering Heyball, American pool, snooker, blackball and carom. Each player has one page that collects results, rankings and ratings from named sources, so players do not have to track their own record.
Who runs TheCueReport?
The site is published under the brand name TheCueReport only. Use the correction form or the brand contact on the Contact page for anything about the data.
Is it free?
Yes. Player profiles, tournament pages and public results are free to read without an account and will stay that way.
Where does the data come from?
From named sources such as official rankings, organizer-published results and rating systems. Every important figure shows its source and the date we last checked it. See How We Verify Data.
What does DEMO mean on some pages?
DEMO marks sample records that exist only to show how the site works. They use fictional names and are not real people, results or rankings. Demo records are never mixed into real ones without a label.
Player profiles
What does "Not yet confirmed" mean?
It means we have no verified value. It is not zero. We leave a field blank rather than guess.
How does a player get a profile?
A profile is created only after the correct spelling of the name is confirmed from a reliable source. We do not link results to a player by name alone, because different players can share a name.
Can I claim my profile?
Profile claiming is planned for a later phase. A claim will need identity evidence reviewed by a person. A matching name is never enough.
FargoRate and rankings
Why does a player not show a FargoRate?
We publish a FargoRate only when the player is confidently matched to the correct FargoRate ID. If we are not sure, or the player has no rating, none is shown.
Why are Heyball players not shown with a Fargo rating?
Heyball players without a FargoRate use the separate WPA Heyball rankings. We never convert WPA ranking points into a Fargo-style number because the systems measure different things.
How current are rankings?
Each ranking shows the date it was published and the date we checked it. Rankings change; always read the date.
Tournament results
How do tournament results get on the site?
From organizers and approved sources. Imported results wait in a review queue and are published only after a person approves them.
Do you copy results from Facebook?
No automated scraping of Facebook is used. A public post can help us notice an event, but a result is published only from a source we are allowed to use and have reviewed.
Equipment
What equipment information is shown?
Cue butt, shaft and tip (brand, model and, for tips, hardness) by discipline, only where verified. Cue extensions are not included.
Sponsorship
Is using a cue brand the same as being sponsored?
No. Equipment used and official sponsorship are shown separately. A sponsorship is marked verified only with brand-side evidence such as an official roster page or announcement.
Corrections
How do I report a mistake?
Use the correction link on any profile or tournament page. We review it, update the record if the evidence supports it, and keep a history of the change.
Privacy
Can I ask for my information to be removed?
Yes. Send a removal request through the correction form. We review requests promptly, and profiles of minors are not shown publicly.
Organizers
Can my club or tournament submit results?
Organizer submissions are planned for the next phase. They will enter the same review queue as other imports before anything is published.
